First Impressions

14th September 2012, 7pm. So, here we are. Welcome to Sheffield! It is cold. But not too much. We take our coats off. Do you have a map? I wish The Harley was not far. I am sick and tired of dragging these two suitcases! Come on, we have almost arrived! It is not so far and we can go by tram, right there. Ok, which line do we have to take? The yellow one? Blue one? Purple?  I'm going to ask that woman. Excuse me, do you know which line...? Yellow. Oh, hello! (Who is he?) We are studying English philology. Yes, we are going to stay here for a year. What about Sheffield? It seems nice. A little bit strange. I don't believe I am here. Here it is, the yellow line. Come on! Bye, nice to meet you! The first acquaintance of the year. Ok, now we have to find Glossop Road. We can ask someone. You have to go straight down and then turn right. Ok, thank you! I don't see The Harley anywhere. Excuse me, do you know...? You seem tired, let us help you to carry your luggage. Oh, thank you very much, we are exhausted! This is The Harley. Welcome to Sheffield and enjoy your experience! Oh no. No. No more stairs. Come on, the last ones and we will stretch at our beds. Ok. One. One more  effort. I don't believe it! This is not the same as that horrible London inn. Who will be the first to take a shower? I am hungry. We should go and get something to eat. A hamburger or something like that. Ok, let's go then. One pizza and a kebab please. Yes, we are students. Bye bye. Oh, where does this music come from? I think they are playing live music. Oh no, not today. I want to sleep. What are we doing tomorrow? Let's see if someone has suggested something on the Facebook group. We are all Spanish here in Sheffield, we should look for English friends if we want to learn something. Good night. Good night. Sleep well. Tomorrow will be another day.

Reflection

This is a brief summary of the day in which I arrived at Sheffield. I have chosen to write about it in this way, like a diary entry, to express my first impressions and immediate reactions. I think the reader might grasp what I mean or might know what I feel when reading it.
