Guilty Pleasures
When the idea strikes it’s just what you need,
Something easy and quick – a tart.
It’s a long drive before you find what you need
but the impending satisfaction
makes the excursion from your sofa worth it.
But which one? Cherry- like normal, or maybe
Treacle this time?
Ingredients collected and you’re back to the Kitchen,
Don’t forget to preheat the oven,
And wear protection – last thing you want is to get burnt.
30 minutes is the perfect time,
Any longer and the price to pay is fatal.
Within the oven it’s hot, dry and fiery.
After, when it’s taken out and cooled down…
It’s time for your reward.
So go ahead, dig in greedily, to your own
Sweet, sweet, pie.
When the idea strikes it’s just what you need,
Something easy and quick – a tart.
It’s a long drive before you find what you need
but the impending satisfaction
makes the excursion from your sofa worth it.
But which one? Cherry- like normal, or maybe
Treacle this time?
Ingredients collected and you’re back to the Kitchen,
Don’t forget to preheat the oven,
And wear protection – last thing you want is to get burnt.
30 minutes is the perfect time,
Any longer and the price to pay is fatal.
Within the oven it’s hot, dry and fiery.
After, when it’s taken out and cooled down…
It’s time to drop her back on the corner where you found her.
