“Do Not Touch”
“Do Not Touch”
The pane of glass
Could shatter
If only you’d let it.
The miniature ropes
Are your major obstacles,
Binding you to this silent etiquette.
This glass is anything but bulletproof;
Could you dare to try and touch beyond?
The pane of pain protecting
Inanimate objects, mocking you.
The shiny shield separating you
But teasing with titillating transparency.
Resistance is easier than you thought.
You look,
You smile,
You move on to the next.
Restrained by yourself;
Held back by manners,
Condemned by courtesy.
