Still

Yellow, an inoffensive choice
something to do with sun
or spring. Suitable for either,
suitable for both. You once said
you wouldn’t mind twins, still
there were only really two choices
and we didn’t mind, not really.
Just happy waiting to be happy.
Not knowing left too much open
other people said, we said it was
exciting, delaying things until
he/she was here. Even if there were
complications we would still it didn’t bare thinking about
it was a worst case the worst case
without a you just don’t expect it these days
we’d never even considered it because
surely the easiest thing a baby can do is
just be born.
