Poetry

Issue #12

In absence it becomes static

Moments in sunlight, connection of skin and eyes
your footprint in every memory
transcending time’s pathway in constant repetitions.
Assuaging wind carves bright patches of sound
into the phonetic of your syllables.

I spent a summer longing for the taste of your silhouette
where the sky finishes, earth rises up
to embrace the shadows. Vestiges of centeredness
coexisting for a second in stuttering candlelight.

This lifelong yearning for another place
propels your waves into the cortex
emancipates consciousness
delays and departs.
