Cover Me in Feathers

Give me pigeon feet
complete with missing toes.
I want a pigeon beak
to hide my human nose.
Cover me in feathers
my own protective layer.

Give me pigeon wings
they can watch me go.
I want pigeon eyes
to see what they know.
Cover me in feathers
my own protective layer.

Give me pigeon bones
with all the different joints.
I want a pigeon heart
in a rib cage that conjoins.
Cover me in feathers
my own protective layer.

Give me a pigeon head
complete with birdy brain.
Then I could forget
free from human pain.
Cover me in feathers
my own protective layer.

Wings sprout from my shoulder bones
never hold you, hear you moan.
At least, at last I'm free
from you, your indifference.
You always hated pigeons.

Covered in feathers
my protective layer.
