Issue #11

a Rothko

use me to pretend your brain is somewhere else
washing through cloud crumbling through coastal shelf
or operating in the black between the welcome mat
and the oxygen from the house plant

I'll throw my sieve skin over those I love
snatch it back the scratching proves
that semi-permanence exists
in the building of palimpsest

come scrape your copper against me
will we bronze together
will my white be silver or milk

as the acrylic grinds up frenzied
have you here the dehydrated weather
or crushed up speckled pills
